Philosophy for Teens

What is the foundation for a happy life? We will look at two schools of practice, Mindfulness and Stoicism, to experiment for ourselves. By comparing east and west, we will find core resonance between these approaches to life. Each focuses on virtue as essential, and each establishes peace and calm as a basis for flourishing. We will reflect on the role of emotions and perceptions, and how to question the stories our mind gives us. Most of all, we will discuss between ourselves how to make these philosophies relevant to our everyday lives.
